Castle Heart Farms is a friendly, family oriented, hunter/jumper show barn that combines fun, family and competition. We show at the local and regional level, from schooling shows to AA rated USEF horse shows in Indiana, Illinois, Michigan and Kentucky. Our riders show in the short stirrup divisions, pony hunters, junior hunters, equitation, medal classes and even the jumper ring! We have a great group of riders who are dedicated to working hard to be the best riders they can be, while still enjoying their horses, traveling to shows, and having a wonderful time! At Castle Heart you can be assured that learning to be a better horseperson is a rewarding and positive experience. Where competition and fun become one! Kieran Dulik is the riding coach and trainer at Castle Heart, and has been riding and showing for over 35 years. She began riding as a six year old and has never looked back. Horses have been her passion for as long as she can remember, and she had the opportunity to train with some of the best: Victor Hugo-Vidal, Meg and Polly Howard, Hiedi Cowley, Rick Cram, Gay Talmay and Gry McFarlane to name a few. Growing up she moved frequently, so this enabled her to ride with many different trainers along the way. Each has had an impact and has contributed to who she is as a horseperson today. This leads to her theory that "You can learn a little bit of something from everyone you meet!" Kieran's goal is to teach you how to think and ride independantly, so that you as a rider learn to better understand your horse. She also believes that everyone learns at a different rate and tailors each lesson to the individual rider and their horse. She is excellent with the timid and nervous rider, as well as the advanced and well schooled rider, and can get all types of rider from the schooling ring to the show ring with confidence!
Our Facility Our barn operates out of Shangri-La Farms in Hebron, Indiana, which is ten miles south of Valparaiso, Indiana. The main barn includes large spacious stalls with individual paddocks for each horse. In addition there is a larger pasture for group turn out. The tackroom has large individual lockers, microwave and refrigerator, as well as a heated viewing area. The main barn is attached to our indoor arena. Outside there is a round pen for ground work and a large outdoor arena.
We believe that "Home is Where your Heart is!", and we hope that you and your horse or pony will make Castle Heart Farms your home too!
